Earlier this summer, music artist Khern$ unleashed his third EP, ELEMENT OG. The rising star is back and kicks off the fall with a new EP, The Rachet EP. The four-track EP is his fifth project. The EP is chock-full of unskippable, vibey hits.
The Rachet EP starts off with a bang with the record, “Clap.” “Clap” is a fun club anthem. The song brandishes a Hyphy, Trap sound. The track features budding female rapper Khai. The two MCs spit light-hearted, party lyrics that are perfect for getting listeners crunk. Track two, “Homegirl,” has a similar party vibe from the opener. The instrumental has a familiar song sampled. The song dives into ménages à trois. The track features renowned rapper Bandito. “Cheeks” is up next and continues with the theme of lust. The synopsis of the record can be gleaned from the title. Khern$ and rising rapper Wake Daze rap animated and entertaining yet clever lyrics in “Cheeks.” The closer, “2AM in the Valley,” slows it down a bit and wraps up the EP’s chronicles. The song is a laid-back jam that smokers will definitely appreciate. SmoothDaWolf helps to bring the EP to a bittersweet halt.
On the surface, The Rachet EP seems like a collection of unrelated songs, but rapper extraordinaire Khern$ put the project in perfect order and created a story based off one single night. “The songs on the EP spell out ‘Clap Homegirl Cheeks (at) 2AM in the Valley,’” Khern$ states. The EP is very enjoyable and one that listeners will undoubtedly play on a loop. Get the day and night started with The Rachet EP.
