Philadelphia based band The Indestructible Water Bear impresses with the melodic indie rock anthem “I Walk the Night”. The track is off of their album Everything Is OK, a seven song musical envelopment.
Featuring Gail Farmer’s emotion capturing vocals, “I Walk the Night” begins with electric guitar picking that sets the scene for a melancholic rich landscape. The song picks up into a grunge-infused banger complete with clashing guitars, soaring vocals and hard-hitting drums. The bridge is whimsical and takes the listeners to yet another sonic high. On the song’s meaning Gail Farmer shares,
“We wrote I Walk The Night at a timewhen I was experiencing very fresh grief. For me, “the Night” is an expression of what it felt like to live with my grief, which is such a dynamic and multifaceted emotion. I love this song because it captures so many of those facets, lyrically and sonically. I am fascinated by the duality of love, as a source of pleasure and pain, and that is definitely a theme in this song and throughout our album, Everything is OK.”
The Indestructible Water Bear are a new rock band that are quickly rising. The band is composed of Gail Farmer (vocals), Jon Lipson (drums), Jimish Mehta (bass) and Geoff Rezvani (guitar). Take a listen to “I Walk the Night” now and be entranced.
