NEW YORK, NEW YORK — Musician and actor Max Bartos, best known for his role in Sing Street, is back with a brand-new album. Titled Waiting at the Crossroads, the record drops on September 16 and will be available on all streaming platforms.
Following his 2023 debut Memento Mori, Max takes a deeper, more introspective turn in Waiting at the Crossroads, exploring the emotional turbulence of doubt, grief, growth, and hope. This isn’t just another album—it’s a soul-baring journey through the messy, in-between moments of life.
A Journey Through Doubt, Loss, and Hope
Max describes the album as being “rooted in moments where I felt caught in between—unsure of myself but still searching for meaning.”
Each track captures a unique emotional snapshot:
- Crossroads – Kicks off the album with a powerful fight against inner demons.
- Doubt – Gives voice to insecurity and the struggle of self-belief.
- Emergency Line – A haunting dark folk ballad that asks: Who would be there if you were gone?
- Faithful Friend – A reflection on innocence, loss, and the people who stay.
- Real – A bold step into authenticity and self-acceptance.
- Spring Air – Closes the album with the bittersweet rush of new love breaking through the cold.
Co-written with Sean Pallatroni (on the title track), the album was produced by David Stingle and Alan Douches, and recorded at West West Side Music.

Max’s Message to Fans:
“I write music because it’s the only way I know how to make sense of the messy, in-between parts of life. If there’s one thing I want fans to take away, it’s that no matter how lost or alone you feel, you’re never the only one standing at the crossroads. These songs are proof of that.”
