Discover Yung T LOF’s Journey to Music Stardom

For Yung T LOF, music has always been more than just a hobby — it’s been part of his life since day one. Growing up as a pastor’s son, the church was his first stage. “My father is a pastor, so he used to make us go to choir rehearsal,” he says. “After choir rehearsal, I’d stay back and play the drums or the bongos. That’s where it all started for me.”

But church music wasn’t the only influence shaping his sound. Early on, he was drawn to the voices dominating hip-hop and R&B in the 2000s — artists like T.I., Akon, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, and T-Pain. Their energy, creativity, and confidence planted a seed. “Even back then, I knew I was the one,” Yung T says. “Even if I wasn’t pushing music seriously yet, it was always in me.”

That off-and-on relationship with music eventually gave way to something more focused. “More recently, I realized music was something I wanted to pursue seriously,” he says. “It wasn’t just a side thing anymore. I’ve always had the vision, but now I’m really walking in it.”

As for the name Yung T LOF? “There’s no deep story behind it,” he admits. “My real name is Trevar, and I’ve been rapping since I was young. It just stuck.” That humble, straightforward energy is part of what makes his music hit differently. Whether he’s rapping in the studio or freestyling on the fly, everything starts with a vibe. “If I hear a beat and I’m feeling it, I start writing instantly. Or I’ll freestyle and jot down lines that come to me.”

Now, Yung T LOF is gearing up for something special — his upcoming EP titled Scriptures in My Scars. “It’s raw, it’s real — it’s everything I’ve been through and everything I’m learning,” he shares. “I’m getting ready for the album too, but this EP is the warm-up. Expect it in the next couple of months.”

With his unique blend of soulful roots and trap energy, Yung T LOF is stepping into his own lane — one that’s honest, heartfelt, and full of heat.
