Platinum-selling band American Authors return with “Race Car,” an anthem that captures the rush of momentary love and a quick and sexy fling. “It’s that intense feeling of passion you find on a trip or vacation only for it to disintegrate once you get back to reality,” shares Zac frontman for the band.
True to the band’s signature blend of infectious melodies and uplifting rhythms, the track fuses driving percussion with warm vocals, creating a sense of urgency and exhilaration. “Race Car” feels both cinematic and radio-ready, a reminder of why American Authors have remained a staple in the alternative pop-rock scene: their ability to turn life’s chaos into a sing-along celebration.
Originally formed in 2006 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, American Authors – Zac Barnett [vocals/guitar], Dave Rublin [bass], and Matt Sanchez [drums] – eventually dropped out of college and moved to Brooklyn to continue refining their airtight songcraft. Nearly a couple of decades later, American Authors are one of the most popular bands in the world with over 1 billion streams and a string of dynamic live shows around the world. “Race Car” is yet another hit from the band, take a listen and enjoy.
