Rom Lawrell is a Chicago native turned Los Angeles-based LGBTQ+ artist, singer-songwriter, and content creator whose presence is as bold as his sound. Blending Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop into a fluid, genre-defying style, Rom has built his artistry around one core principle: freedom. Freedom to express. Freedom to evolve. Freedom to exist without apology.

From a young age, Rom knew music was more than just entertainment — it was identity. Growing up navigating both the competitive world of music and the complexities of self-discovery, he made a conscious decision to defy limitations. Rather than fit into a predefined box, he committed himself to breaking them. His journey has been shaped by acceptance — of life, of love, and of the messy, nonlinear process of growth. That authenticity radiates through every record he releases.

His latest single, “ATTENTION,” is a bold declaration of that freedom. The track is an uptempo fusion of house, dance, and amapiano influences — a sonic shift that feels intentional and celebratory. Designed as a confidence anthem for the LGBTQ+ community heading into spring and summer, “ATTENTION” doesn’t just invite listeners to move — it commands it. Inspired by icons like Beyoncé, Missy Elliott, Sisqó, and Lady Gaga, Rom channels sharp wordplay and undeniable charisma. He’s not just riding the beat — he’s spitting with precision and owning every second of it.

Lyrically, “ATTENTION” tells the story of stepping fully into self-expression without shrinking. It’s about no longer boxing yourself in to make others comfortable. It’s about demanding space, visibility, and respect. The energy is infectious, but the message runs deeper — confidence is power, and authenticity is liberation.

Rom carried that same fearless energy into the music video. Styled in a powerful aesthetic, he commands the screen in a red oversized double-breasted blazer with bold shoulders, jet-black Y2K wrap-around sunglasses reminiscent of a Yeezy-meets-Motomami vibe, sleek black leather pants, and matching boots. The look alone signals dominance and control. But Rom didn’t stop there.

He also steps into drag, wearing a leopard print bodysuit styled with glam by Hershii LiqCour-Jeté from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 14. The visual is eccentric, fierce, and unapologetically multidimensional — perfectly reflecting the artist he is. It’s not about shock value. It’s about expression. It’s about honoring every layer of identity without compromise.

Currently, Rom Lawrell is working on a multi-genre EP that promises to expand his already versatile catalog. If “ATTENTION” is any indication, listeners can expect boundary-pushing sounds, layered storytelling, and fearless visuals. In the meantime, fans can look forward to more single releases as he continues to build momentum.

Rom Lawrell isn’t just creating music — he’s creating space. Space for confidence. Space for queer joy. Space for evolution.

And if “ATTENTION” proves anything, it’s that he’s not asking for the spotlight.

He’s taking it.
