JahhThaPoet doesn’t create for entertainment—she creates for healing. Also known as Tha Syck Kidd and often referred to as the female J. Cole, her work goes far beyond traditional music. She blends spoken word, philosophy, anime influences, and multiple languages into something that feels spiritual, emotional, and deeply intentional. Every track is designed to reach people in their lowest moments, to remind them they are not alone, and to guide them toward something greater within themselves. Her art is not just sound, it is alignment.
Her journey began with a life-altering moment. In 2015, while playing college basketball in Missouri, she was found passed out face down in the grass, not breathing. That moment became a turning point. What she describes as divine intervention forced her to restart her life, moving back to Atlanta and rebuilding from nothing. Out of that reset came expression. She began writing poetry and creating music as a way to process everything she had been through. What started as a personal outlet quickly became something others connected with. People from all different backgrounds began reaching out, telling her that her words gave them hope and inspiration. That connection pushed her forward, and she has been going hard ever since.
Her style is intentionally undefined. She describes it as a vibe with no box, no ceiling, and no lane. Something one of one. Not from this world, but grounded in healing. That freedom allows her to create without limitation, moving between sounds and ideas in a way that feels authentic to her experience. She was never meant to fit into a category, and that is exactly what makes her stand out.
Her journey has come with real challenges. From people being intimidated by her lyrical ability and backing out of songs or cutting her verses, to others attempting to use her ideas or replicate her sound, she has had to protect her identity as an artist. On top of that, she lives with chronic illness, something that deeply influences her work and her perspective. That pain became part of her purpose. It is why she embraces the name Tha Syck Kidd, turning struggle into identity and using her voice to bring awareness to others facing similar battles. Her music does not hide pain, it speaks directly to it and transforms it into something that can heal.

Her accomplishments reflect both her grind and her impact. She has toured through Texas and Kansas, opened for artists like Paul Wall and Twista, performed at Juneteenth events in Oklahoma City, and been featured on radio stations across multiple states. She has also been voted a top five female artist at the OKC People’s Choice Awards. Still, for her, this is only the beginning.
At the core of her message is something powerful. You can heal. You are not alone. You are allowed to be fully yourself. Through her music, she aims to help people reconnect with their purpose, raise their awareness, and step into who they are meant to be. Her work speaks directly to those who feel unheard, especially creatives, athletes, spiritually inclined individuals, and those navigating illness or internal battles. She is building more than a fanbase, she is building connection.
What keeps her moving forward is purpose. She believes her destiny is to heal and align people through her voice, her art, and her presence. Creating does not just help others, it helps her. It is a cycle of healing that continues to evolve with every piece of work she releases. She is not thinking small, she is thinking about global impact.
Right now, she is focused on creating music, visuals, and projects that challenge perception and shift what people consider normal. Her mission is to change the world, not just through sound, but through mindset and awareness, creating something that lasts beyond the moment. Looking ahead, her goal is clear. To be recognized as one of the greatest lyricists to ever do it, while knowing that her work has truly changed lives.
