Delaño Neckles, better known as Zombii, is a creative designer from Grenada using fashion as a way to express individuality while bringing purpose to the process. Through his clothing brand, Zombii House, he creates one-of-one upcycled garments made from repurposed fabrics and materials, giving each piece its own identity while also helping reduce waste within the fashion industry. His work is rooted in originality, sustainability, and the belief that fashion can be both creative and meaningful.

What makes Zombii House stand apart is the intention behind every garment. For Delaño Neckles, better known as Zombii, fashion is not about creating pieces that look like everything else already on the market. His work is built around individuality, sustainability, and the belief that clothing should carry its own personality. Through the use of upcycled fabrics and repurposed materials, Zombii creates one-of-one garments that allow each design to exist as something completely original. No two pieces are meant to feel the same, and that is exactly the point.

His connection to fashion began at an early age. Growing up, Zombii was heavily exposed to the world of fashion and modeling through his older sister, who he describes as both a model and an amazing creative. Watching her move through that space helped open his eyes to the possibilities of creativity and self-expression. It gave him a front-row seat to the power of style, presentation, and artistic identity, eventually inspiring him to explore what his own creative voice could look like.

The push to officially start his brand came through a close friend, Caleb Garver, the owner of the clothing brand Daytripper. While working with Caleb, Zombii received the kind of encouragement that many creatives need before fully stepping into their vision. Caleb recognized the strength in the clothing Zombii was making and continued reminding him that his work was not only dope, but something he could truly build on. That support helped him take the next step and turn his ideas into a brand of his own.

Zombii does not define his style by one specific category, and that freedom is a major part of his creative identity. His approach is rooted in being unique, allowing every piece to develop its own character based on the materials he is working with. Because his garments are created with upcycled fabrics, each design naturally carries a different story. The material, texture, shape, and construction all influence the final outcome, giving his work a rare quality that cannot be duplicated in the same way twice.

Still, like many artists, one of his biggest challenges has been learning how to get out of his own head. There were times when he questioned whether what he was creating was cool enough or whether people would understand and appreciate it. Over time, he had to remind himself that his art belongs to him first. He creates because it is part of who he is, not because he is trying to please everyone. That mindset helped him understand that the right people will connect with the work, and the people who truly appreciate originality will recognize the value in what he is building.

That confidence has already led to major moments in his journey. Winning The Grid Show designer competition in Houston stands as one of his proudest accomplishments so far. That achievement opened the door for him to showcase a collection during New York Fashion Week, an experience that has become one of the most meaningful highlights of his career. Not only did he participate in NYFW, but he also opened the show, a moment that brought his vision to a larger stage and showed him just how far his work could go.

Being featured in articles after that experience added another layer of confirmation for him. For Zombii, these moments are not just about recognition; they represent the growth of an idea that started with creativity, encouragement, and belief. To see his garments move from personal creation to competition stages, fashion showcases, and industry conversations has filled him with gratitude and joy. It is proof that his work has a place and that his message is reaching people.

At the heart of Zombii House is a message bigger than clothing. Zombii wants his brand to contribute to reducing the amount of wasted fabric and materials in the world by repurposing them into new creations. His love for nature plays a major role in that mission, pushing him to think about the impact fashion has on the planet. Instead of ignoring the waste and pollution connected to the industry, he is choosing to use his creativity as part of the solution.

His message also extends into unity. For Zombii, fashion is another way to express the belief that we are all connected. His words are simple but powerful: one love, one family, one race. That perspective gives his brand a deeper purpose, reminding people that creativity can be used not only to express individuality but also to bring people together through shared values, respect, and love for the planet.

The support system around him continues to keep him motivated. Along with his love for nature, the encouragement he receives from the people who believe in him helps him keep creating and pushing his vision forward. Having that foundation matters, especially in an industry where self-doubt can easily creep in. For Zombii, support has been a major part of his growth, helping him stay grounded while continuing to dream bigger.

Currently, Zombii is preparing a new collection that will debut July 18 at the Houston Fashion Summit. This next collection gives him another opportunity to show the evolution of Zombii House and continue introducing people to his world of upcycled, one-of-one fashion. Each new piece is another chance to challenge himself, refine his creative process, and expand the reach of his brand.

Looking ahead, Zombii’s vision reaches far beyond individual garments. One of his biggest goals is to eventually create a large warehouse space under the Zombii House name. This space would not only serve as a home for his brand, but as a dream environment where creatives can come together, build, design, and bring ideas to life. It reflects the kind of future he wants to create: one rooted in fashion, community, sustainability, and opportunity.

Zombii House is still growing, but its foundation is already clear. It is a brand built on originality, purpose, and the belief that discarded materials can be transformed into something meaningful. Through each garment, Zombii is proving that fashion does not have to follow the same patterns to make an impact. Sometimes, the strongest pieces are the ones created from what others overlooked.
