“I wanted to go for a Michael Jackson sound, specifically from his Invincible era,” he says. “That’s how I came up with the idea from the instrumental, taking elements of ‘You Rock My World’ as the foundation.”
The influence serves as a creative compass rather than a blueprint. “U n Me” remains rooted in DJ’s vision, but it carries an appreciation for a time when pop records felt rhythmic, cinematic, romantic, and performance-driven all at once.
