Hazi: Turning Emotion Into Sound, and Sound Into Healing

There are artists who create for recognition, and then there are artists who create because they have no other way to exist. Hazi—born Hazal Kazancı—belongs to the latter. Her relationship with music is not transactional, nor is it performative. It is deeply personal, instinctive, and necessary. For her, music is not just an art form—it is a language of survival, a method of understanding, and ultimately, a path toward healing.

Her journey began long before stages, studios, or formal training.

At just five years old, without the presence of a safe emotional guide in her early life, Hazi turned inward—and then outward through sound. Singing and songwriting became her way of regulating emotions she didn’t yet have the tools to process. Where words may have failed, melody stepped in. Where confusion existed, rhythm gave structure. In many ways, music became the safe space she didn’t have.

And from that foundation, something powerful was built.

While her roots are grounded in classical music, her artistic identity has never been confined to a single genre. Over time, she explored funk, rock, jazz—absorbing each influence not as a limitation, but as an expansion. Today, her sound lives within the realm of electronic music, drawing from melodic house and techno, yet always anchored in emotion. It’s not just about beats or production—it’s about feeling. Her music carries an emotional depth that reflects her journey, blending technical precision with vulnerability in a way that feels both modern and timeless.

But talent alone does not define her path.

One of the most defining aspects of Hazi’s journey has been her commitment to integrity. In an industry that often rewards compromise, she has chosen to remain aligned with her values—even when it meant sacrificing visibility or opportunities. That decision has not always been easy, but it has been intentional. For Hazi, authenticity is not negotiable. It is the foundation of everything she creates.

And that authenticity extends beyond music.

Her life reflects the same courage and resilience that her art embodies. From delivering a TED Talk on courage, to moving to the United States independently without support, to earning a full university scholarship—her story is one of determination and self-belief. Now, as she pursues a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she continues to bridge the worlds of art and emotional well-being, reinforcing the idea that creativity and healing are deeply connected.

That connection is central to her mission.

Hazi doesn’t just want listeners to hear her music—she wants them to feel it. To reconnect with their emotions, to embrace vulnerability, and to learn how to navigate their inner world through sound and movement. Her work invites people to slow down, to listen inward, and to understand themselves on a deeper level. In a world that often encourages emotional suppression, her music becomes a space for release.

For Hazi, creation is not something that requires motivation—it simply exists.

It is her natural state. A continuous process of translating life into sound. Whether she is in the studio or simply experiencing the world, music is always present. It is how she makes sense of everything—joy, pain, confusion, growth.

Currently, she is channeling that energy into consistency.

With a commitment to releasing one song every month, she is building not just a catalog, but a rhythm—a steady flow of expression that allows her audience to grow alongside her. Each release becomes a chapter, a moment captured in sound, a continuation of an ongoing conversation between artist and listener.

But her vision extends far beyond her own music.

One of her most profound goals is to create spaces where others can heal and grow through creativity. She envisions art schools and creative environments where people can learn their craft while also discovering themselves—spaces where expression becomes service, and where art becomes a tool for transformation.

Hazi is not just building a career.

She is building a purpose-driven life—one where music, psychology, and human connection intersect.

And in doing so, she reminds us of something essential:

Sometimes, the most powerful art doesn’t come from perfection.

It comes from truth.
