TWO is a rising artist born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised between Lithonia and Covington, Georgia, whose music blends late-night R&B, melodic rap, and contemporary Southern hip-hop. After serving as a United States Army Officer, TWO is stepping into a new creative season with discipline, maturity, and the freedom to tell his story without filters.

His connection to music started early. One of the first moments that shaped him came when his father bought and played Ne-Yo’s In My Own Words. That album became the first time TWO truly connected with the emotion and melody behind a song. It showed him that music could do more than sound good. It could tell stories, capture feelings, and connect with people on a deeper level. That experience helped lay the foundation for the artist he would eventually become.

Although TWO had been walking the road as a songwriter since 2021, he did not fully commit to becoming an artist until 2025. Between 2021 and 2026, he served as a United States Army Officer, an experience that gave him discipline, structure, maturity, and perspective. At the same time, being connected to the Army meant he had to be careful with how he presented himself and what he expressed publicly. That reality shaped the kind of music he was creating and, in some ways, limited how much of himself he could fully reveal.

As he prepared to transition out of the military, TWO realized it was time to embrace his artistry without restriction. For the first time, he could tell his story on his own terms and allow listeners to experience who he really was without filters. That freedom became one of the biggest reasons he began taking music seriously. He was no longer creating from a place of limitation. He was creating from honesty, ownership, and the desire to be unapologetically himself in every song.

TWO describes his sound as the intersection of late-night R&B, melodic rap, and contemporary Southern hip-hop. His music is built more around atmosphere than high energy, with melodies that feel conversational and lyrics that sound like internal dialogue. Style-wise, he blends emotional transparency, intentional storytelling, and melodic rap with R&B influence. His songs often explore the duality of confidence and vulnerability, capturing real-life moments through honest narratives and memorable melodies.

People may hear inspiration from artists like Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bryson Tiller, and the R&B greats who came before them. TWO recognizes the influence, especially in the way Drake blends melody, rap, and emotion, but he is not trying to recreate anyone else’s story. What separates him is authenticity. His music comes from lived experience, whether he is writing about love, ambition, heartbreak, confidence, late-night thoughts, or the transition from military life into music full time.

TWO does not create a persona when he steps into the booth. The same person listeners hear on a confident record is the same person they hear on a vulnerable one. That balance is important to him because his goal is to make music that feels like the soundtrack to real life. In the same way actors and actresses can make people feel emotion visually, TWO wants to create that feeling sonically through his music. His goal is not to sound like his influences. It is to take what inspired him and turn it into something people can recognize as his own.

More than anything, TWO wants listeners to know they are not alone in what they feel. Whether he is making a record about love, ambition, heartbreak, confidence, or self-reflection, he wants people to hear real experiences and find pieces of their own lives in the music. He does not believe every song has to teach a lesson, but he does believe every song should make people feel something. Sometimes that feeling may be confidence before a night out. Other times, it may help someone process emotions they did not know how to put into words.

His motivation comes from several places. One of the people who pushes him most is his younger brother, YBN Blick. Watching Blick’s consistency, work ethic, and hunger to become one of the most respected artists in the new generation of rap motivates TWO to keep raising his own standard. Seeing someone close to him take the craft seriously reminds him that success requires discipline, consistency, and the willingness to keep growing.

Another major influence in TWO’s journey is NENO AMANTE, who was the first person to encourage him in 2020 to look at himself as an artist. NENO AMANTE believed TWO’s real-life experiences were worth talking about because people could genuinely relate to them. That encouragement changed the way TWO viewed songwriting. It helped him understand that authenticity was not a weakness. It was one of the strongest things an artist could bring to the music.

Musically, Drake has also played a major role in how TWO thinks about artistry and longevity. While he acknowledges that nobody can replace Michael Jackson and what he means to music, TWO describes Drake as his Michael Jackson when it comes to being an artist. Drake’s ability to evolve, blend genres, stay culturally relevant, and create music that becomes the soundtrack to different moments in people’s lives has influenced how TWO approaches his own career.

One of the biggest challenges TWO has faced while building his name is realizing that making great music is only half the battle. In today’s industry, marketing and promotion are just as important as the songs themselves. There are countless talented artists creating strong music every day, but if people never hear it, the quality alone is not enough. TWO is learning how to leverage social media, build an audience, create consistent content, and place himself in front of new listeners while continuing to grow as an artist.

He understands that this side of the business is a completely different skill set from making music, but it is one he is committed to mastering. Every release, every post, and every piece of content becomes another opportunity to understand what connects with people and how to grow organically. TWO describes himself as a small ember in a pile of a billion leaves, burning quietly and waiting for the right spark. He believes that once that fire catches, everything can change.

The project TWO is most proud of is his debut EP, Insomnia, because it represents more than his first body of work. It represents his freedom as an artist. For years, he waited for the right opportunity to introduce his sound to the world, but while serving as an Army Officer, there were parts of his artistry he could not fully express. Insomnia became the moment where he could create without limitations and let people hear who he truly is through the music.

Every song on Insomnia reflects a different part of TWO’s journey, from late-night thoughts and emotional vulnerability to confidence and self-discovery. Releasing the project felt like turning the page on one chapter of his life and beginning another. No matter what he accomplishes moving forward, Insomnia will always hold a special place because it was the project that introduced the world to TWO.

People should be paying attention to TWO right now because he brings a rare balance to the music. He describes himself as having the penmanship of a rapper with the soul of an R&B artist. He cares deeply about lyricism, word choice, storytelling, and structure, but he never wants the writing to overshadow the feeling. His goal is to create records that are just as rewarding to listen to for the melodies as they are to revisit for the lyrics.

Fans can expect more music, visuals, and consistency from TWO moving forward. He recently released three new singles, “Drop That,” “Love Me” featuring YBN Blick, and “In My Head,” all available on streaming platforms. These records showcase different sides of who he is as an artist, from late-night R&B and melodic storytelling to more confident, high-energy sounds. Each release gives listeners a deeper look into his range, his perspective, and the direction he is building toward.

As he continues growing his catalog and refining his sound, TWO is focused on giving listeners more of himself with every release. He has also hinted that there may or may not be another EP in the works, giving fans another reason to stay tuned. What is clear is that TWO is no longer creating with hesitation. He is moving with purpose, freedom, and the discipline of someone who understands what it takes to build something lasting.

TWO is building late-night R&B with real-life emotion, and that is what makes him a rising artist to watch. His journey from songwriter to Army Officer to fully committed artist gives his music a perspective that cannot be manufactured. With Insomnia out, new singles in motion, and a sound rooted in confidence, vulnerability, and truth, TWO is stepping into his artist era with something real to say.
